Widely recognizable red payphones which can be found only in the UK slowly starting to disappear. However, thanks to the local communities and the company "British Telecom" hundreds of them began to re-use, just to save these iconic monuments.
In 2002, the streets around the UK there were 92,000 payphones. This figure had fallen to 51,500 today, with only 11,000 of the traditional red speakers. In the last 20 years, the company withdrew thousands of speakers throughout the kingdom, as people began to communicate through mobile phones via the Internet.
